DePauw Earns 27-6 Football Victory at Rhodes

marks110505.jpgOctober 14, 2006, Memphis, Tenn.. - DePauw University's football team improved its season record to 5-1 and 2-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this afternoon by defeating host Rhodes College, 27-6. Junior Jeremiah Marks rushed for 114 yards and the Tigers defense held Rhodes (4-2, 2-1-) to just 40 yards rushing and two field goals.

"Describing the 2005 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference scoring and rushing leader, broadcaster Abigail Oliver said of Jeremiah Marks, 'You think he's down, then the pile moves 10 more yards,'" begins an article in the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "With the power of a large running back and breakaway speed of a small back, Marks utilized both while scoring three touchdowns on Saturday to lead DePauw to its sixth straight victory over Rhodes," writes Bill Sorrell.
