Max Hittle '66 Receives 'Spirit of the Monon Bell' Award

November 10, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Max W. Hittle Jr., partner in the law firm of Krieg DeVault and 1966 graduate of DePauw University, is the 2006 recipient of the Spirit of the Monon Bell Award. Hittle was honored last night at a gathering of Wabash and DePauw alumni at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. DePauw, in turn, presented its "Spirit" award to Jim Cumming, a pediatrician and Wabash graduate. A member of Krieg DeVault's Litigation Practice Group, Hittle's practice encompasses business, corporate and banking litigation. His experience includes the defense of banks and bank personnel in general banking matters; defense of product liability cases primarily related to the petroleum industry; and general corporate matters. Hittle has also represented clients in sports and entertainment law matters.
Max Hittle is as a member of DePauw's Board of Trustees and previously served his alma mater as president of the University's Alumni Association. He is currently serving on the board of governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and is the past chairman of the Indianapolis Bar Association Sports and Entertainment Law Section. He is a member of the board of directors and general counsel for the Indianapolis Indians, Inc. He was listed among "Indiana Super Lawyers" earlier this year.Back
