Tigers open season against Bears in battle of nationally-ranked teams

November 17, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw tips off the 2006-07 season tonight when they square off with Washington University in the first game of the Illinois Wesleyan Tipoff Tournament.

The Tigers, 29-2 last season and NCAA Division III quarterfinalist, are ranked third in the D3hoops.com preseason poll and fifth in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll. Washington enters the season ranked 12th by D3hoops.com and 10th in the coaches' rankings.

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CST and can be heard on WGRE (91.5 FM).

Friday's second game features Illinois Wesleyan against Central. The losers meet at 2 p.m. CST on Saturday with the winners facing each other at 4 p.m.
