Tigers roll to win over Fontbonne

November 21, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored the first 15 points of its contest with visiting Fontbonne and never trailed on the way to a 113-48 victory. The Tigers improved to 2-1 with the win, while the Griffins dropped to 0-2.

The Tigers, ranked third by D3hoops.com and fifth in the coaches' poll, broke the previous single-game school record of 109 points set against Webster in 1996.

Liz Bondi paced the Tigers with 18 points in 18 minutes, while Jenna Fernandez and Cassie Pruzin each chipped in 13 and Emily Marshall followed with 10. Caitlin McGonigal hauled down a game-high seven rebounds, while Suzy Doughty matched a career high with nine assists along with five steals.

Kate Evers led Fontbonne with 14 points, while Lauren Crain added 12 and Amber Karnes followed with 10. Rosemary Patterson grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

DePauw shot 61.6 percent from the floor and knocked down seven of 10 three-pointers. Fontbonne hit 43.9 percent from the floor, but turned the ball over 34 times.

The Tigers host the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. DePauw faces St. Elizabeth (N.J.) in Saturday's second game at 8 p.m., while Rose-Hulman and Denison battle at 6 p.m.
