Fifth-ranked Tigers win fifth straight

December 9, 2006, Monmouth, Ill. - The fifth-ranked Tigers shot 59 percent form the floor in the first half including 64 percent from three-point range on the way to a 90-60 win at Monmouth. The Tigers improved to 6-1 while the Scots dropped to 4-4 with the loss.
The Tigers used a 20-4 first-half run to expand a one-point lead to 17 on the way to a 49-28 halftime lead and then opened the second half with a 5-0 run over the first 28 seconds to put the game away.
Cassie Pruzin paced the Tigers with 17 points and knocked down 5-of-8 threes, whle Gretchen Haehl hit 4-of-6 three-pointers on the way to 14. Meghan Warner added 14 and Suzy Doughty just missed the second triple-double in school history with 10 assists and 10 steals in addition to nine points. Warner led the Tigers with seven rebounds as DePauw held a 37-31 edge on the boards.
Melissa Gorski paced Monmouth with 19 and Tanesha Hughes added 16 in the loss. Ashley Yeast grabbed eight rebounds and Elise Waldorf dished out seven assists.
The Tigers shot just under 51 percent for the game and knocked down 11 of 18 three-pointers for 61 percent. The 11 three-pointers matched a school record. Monmouth shot 45.5 percent for the game, but committed 33 turnovers.
DePauw travels to Wittenberg on Saturday, December 16.
