Hertel was previously named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

"Hertel set a school and SCAC record single-season tackles for loss (27.5) and tied SCAC and set DePauw single-season record for sacks (16) in 2006," the marks.jpgGazette notes. "He ranks second in NCAA Division III for tackles for loss, third for sacks and fourth in forced fumbles."

The publication gave DePauw junior running back Jeremiah Marks (pictured at right) honorable mention All-America honors. Marks set a single-season school record this season with 1,117 rushing yards. Earlier, he garnered first team all-region honors and a third consecutive first team all-SCAC designation.
