Brad Stevens.jpgJanuary 31, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "Except for Stevens, who played at DePauw, everyone on Butler's staff played at Butler," notes a story in today's Indianapolis Star on Butler University's assistant men's basketball coaches. The youthful group includes Brad Stevens, a 1999 graduate of DePauw University. The Butler Bulldogs, under head coach Todd Lickliter, are ranked #13 in NCAA Division I and have a 20-2 record heading into tonight's game at Youngstown State.

"Stevens said new assistants immerse themselves in college basketball, learning recruiting, scouting, compliance and all the off-court components that affect on-court performance," writes David Woods.

In his sixth season as a Butler assistant coach, Stevens tells the newspaper, "In this business, you grow up quickly."

An economics major and Management Fellow at DePauw, Stevens earned all-conference and academic all-conference honors as a four-year member of the Tigers basketball team.
