A native of Mililani, Hawaii, Hartnett has been studying voice for more than four years and is a student of Pamela Coburn '74. Hartnett has performed in DePauw operas since her freshman year and will portray Adele in DePauw opera's production of Die Fledermaus, February 8-11.
The national winner of the MTNA Young Artist Voice Competition receives a cash prize and will perform in a concert during the conference.
The three-tiered MTNA competitions begin at the state level. Winners of each State Competition advance to the Division Competition. Division winners then proceed to the National Competition Finals.
