February 27, 2007

Lane, a 1995 DePauw graduate, served as head coach for the Tigers for seven seasons and her teams compiled an 80-49 record. During that time the Tigers won at least 10 games each year and extended DePauw's streak of .500 or better seasons to 14.

She was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year each of the last two years and the Kentucky-Indiana-Tennessee Coach of the Year in 2003.

"We're grateful for Carla's commitment to the University and the field hockey program," DePauw Director of Athletics Page Cotton said. "As a coach she carried on a tradition of excellence of which she was part of as a player."

A national search will be conducted to find Lane's replacement.
