Tigers sweep Polar Bears

March 17, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw improved to 7-5 and ran its win streak to seven straight with a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Northern. The Tigers won the first game, 4-2, and the nightcap, 4-3.
In the opener, the Tigers scored three in the third with two coming on Jack Gavin's single to left. They added a single run in the fifth on Gavin's groundout. The Polar Bears scored their two in the top of the seventh.
DePauw totaled six hits with six different players totaling one each. Josh Conkey and Phil Bruns each had two of Ohio Northern's five hits. Jeremy Alland improved to 1-1 with six innings and no earned runs allowed, while Paul Rodenhouse picked up his second save. Brian Hill dropped to 1-3.
In the nightcap, DePauw scored once in the first on Adam Ford's single, but Ohio Northern tied the game with a solo run in the second on Brandon Hubbard's RBI double. Ford had an RBI double in the third and Matt Drew added a run-scoring single before Justin Weiner brought home a run on a fielder's choice.
Matt Roberts hit a solor homer in the fourth and Jeff Henfling added an RBI single in the sixth to close the gap to 4-3.
Ford improved to 1-1 with the win, while Rodenhouse collected his third save. J. C. Valentour dropped to 1-2 with the loss.
Ford had two of DePauw's four hits, while Hubbard collected four of the Polar Bears' eight.
