Tiger stay unbeaten at 10-0 following sweep at Rose-Hulman

March 22, 2007, Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw continued its best start in school history after sweeping Rose-Hulman by scores of 12-0 and 9-4. DePauw improved to 10-0 with the wins, while the Engineers dropped to 7-7.

Megan Soultz improved to 3-0 with a two-hitter in the first game and also extended her scoreless streak to 20 innings.

The Tigers scored one in the first, six in the fourth and five in the sixth. Rachel Gill and Chelsy Patterson each collected four of DePauw's 18 hits, while Lauren Rees, Jessica Krueger, Kaitlyn Davitt and Laura Schlensker each added two.

Britta Bernthold collected both of the Engineers' hits, while Jordan Goslee dropped to 6-2 with the loss.

In the nightcap, Jessica Bowlds broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh with an RBI single and Schlensker followed with a grand slam to put the game out of reach.

DePauw took a 4-0 lead with two each in the first and third innings before Rose-Hulman rallied with three in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Krueger, Gill, Schlensker and Kristy Mahon each totaled two of DePauw's 14 hits. Gill finished the doubleheader with a six-for-six performance.

Darcie Thomas paced Rose-Hulman with three of their nine hits with Bernthold adding two.

Katherine Veatch improved to 3-0 with the relief win, while Thomas dropped to 1-5.

DePauw begins a 10-game stretch in Fort Myers, Fla., on Sunday.
