Newspapers Report on Three Scholar-Athletes' DePauw Plans

April 24, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "Laura Halley, a Leesburg resident and senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, has committed to play tennis at DePauw University in Indiana next year," reports the Loudoun Times Mirror of Northern Virginia. "Halley, who holds a 4.2 grade point average, was also named a Holton Scholar and a Management Fellow at DePauw. She was the Most Valuable Player for Wakefield School last fall after posting a combined 41-3 record at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles."
Nick Pucillo, a senior at Anderson High School, is Cincinnati's Community Press & Recorder "male student athlete of the week." He runs on the track and cross country teams at his high school, and tells the newspaper, "I am running cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track at DePauw University next year." Read more here.
Finally, the Journal and Courier of Lafayette, Indiana notes, "McCutcheon standout Brooke Osborne will continue her basketball career at defending Division III national champion DePauw. Osborne averaged 14.7 points, 3.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds for the Mavericks as a senior, earning Team MVP and Journal & Courier First Team All-Area honors for the second straight season. She was among the area's best shooters from 3-point range (38.6 percent) and at the free throw line (86.7) and was selected for Hoosier Basketball magazine's Top 40 Workout. DePauw was 31-3 last season."Back
