DePauw falls to Trinity; plays Centre in elimination game tonight

April 28, 2007, San Antonio, Texas - Trinity put together three straight hits in the bottom of the sixth and claimed a 1-0 win over DePauw in game seven of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

The Tigers dropped to 32-4 and had their 11-game win streak snapped, while Trinity improved to 24-10. DePauw faces Centre in an elimination contest this evening. Trinity advances to Sunday's 11 a.m. championship game.

Michelle Gossein doubled down the left field line with two outs in the sixth and moved to third on Erin Fodness' single through the left side. Amy Blaha then delivered the game-winning single to left.

DePauw totaled just three hits as Chelsy Patterson, Kristy Mahon and Carolyn Bartlett each had one. Fodness and Blaha each had two of Trinity's six hits.

Megan Soultz suffered the loss and dropped to 14-3, while Erin Mulvey improved to 15-4 with the win as she allowed just three DePauw players to reach base and retired the first 14 she faced.
