DePauw falls to Centre in SCAC elimination game

April 28, 2007, San Antonio, Texas - DePauw dropped to 32-5 on the season and was eliminated from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament following a 3-0 loss to Centre. The Colonels improved to 23-19 with the victory.

Centre scored the only run it would need in the bottom of the first as Lindsey Willett led off with an infield single, stole second and advanced to third on Maggie Blackburn's sacrifice bunt. Willett then scored on Cate Guthrie's bunt.

DePauw put together a threat in the fourth as Jessica Krueger led off with a single and moved to second on Rachel Gill's sacrifice bunt. Carolyn Bartlett then reached base on an error, but the Tigers were unable to push home a run.

In the top of the sixth, Kristy Mahon led off with a single and moved to second on Krueger's bunt. Gill singled Mahon to third and Kaitlyn Davitt loaded the bases after reaching on a Centre error. A popout to second and a flyout ended the inning.

Centre added two more in the seventh  when Blackburn and Guthrie each singled and advanced a base on Laura Hufnagle's bunt. Julia Hubbard then drove in a pair with a double down the left field line.

Charlotte Jones improved to 7-5 with the win after allowing just four hits, while DePauw's Lauren Curosh dropped to 12-1. Mahon, Krueger, Gill and Curosh each had one hit for the Tigers, while Hubbard finished with two of Centre's five.
