A Gift of Any Amount Could Be Worth $100,000 to DePauw
May 6, 2007
May 6, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - A gift of any amount to DePauw this year may be worth $100,000. Three anonymous alumni donors have offered a challenge: if alumni reach 40 percent participation in the Annual Fund by June 30, they will give the University $100,000.
Alumni gifts of any amount will help secure the 40 percent participation challenge. As of May 1, meeting the goal required 2,470 additional alumni donors.
Alumni participation in the Annual Fund is an important quality benchmark for DePauw. "Alumni participation is a measure of the University's vitality," explains Lee Wilson '76, the national chair of the Annual Fund. "It indicates alumni satisfaction with their undergraduate experience and a desire to give back to the next generation. As a result, the public -- including prospective students -- uses our alumni giving participation rate as a measure of DePauw's quality."
Annual Fund participation is a key component of DePauw's strategic plan: Securing Our Legacy. Annual fund gifts go primarily to support the 53 percent of DePauw students who receive need-based financial aid. However, you may designate your gift to underwrite University investments in any of the following areas:
- Student Scholarships
- Creative and Performing Arts
- Diversity Initiatives
- Katula Fund for Athletics
- Technology and Library Support
- Winter Term and Off-Campus Study
- Unrestricted Support
