Bondi advances to NCAA championship match for second time in three years

May 19, 2007, Fredericksburg, Va. - Top-seed Liz Bondi advanced to the NCAA Division III Singles finals for the second time in three years following this morning's 6-4, 6-3 quarterfinal win over Middlebury's Amy Roche and a 6-3, 6-3 semifinal victory over Pomona-Pitzer's Siobhan Finicane.
Bondi will take on defending champion Emily Applegate of Washington & Lee in Sunday's Noon national title match. Applegate defeated Wheaton's (Ill.) Jordan Hook 6-4, 6-1 in today's other semifinal match.
The national championship appearance is Bondi's second in singles as she lost a three-set match to Washington & Lee's Lindsay Hagerman in the 2005 Championships.
