New CPA Tyler Harrell '04 Receives Illinois' Excel Award

UB Students Spring 2-007.jpgJune 7, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Tyler D. Harrell, a 2004 graduate of DePauw University, is a recipient of the the Illinois CPA Society's Excel Award. The honor is presented to new CPAs for outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination. To be eligible for the Excel Award, candidates must achieve a combined average score of 90 percent or above on all sections of the examination within two consecutive testing windows and be in the top five percent of Illinois scores.

Harrell, who majored in economics at DePauw, was one of ten individuals to receive Excel Awards at the New CPA Banquet. More than 1,100 new Illinois CPAs were welcomed at the event.

"The Illinois CPA Society is thrilled to see the increase in new CPAs in Illinois this year -- almost double the amount from last year," says Elaine Weiss, president and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society. "We applaud each of the Excel Award recipients on this incredible achievement and proudly welcome all new CPAs to the profession."

The Illinois CPA Society, founded in 1903, is the fifth largest state CPA society in the nation, with more than 22,700 members. Read more at Yahoo! News.
