Art Prof. Bill Meehan is Featured in TV Station's 'Indiana's Own' Segment
April 17, 1990
April 17, 1990, Greencastle, Ind. - "The exhibition is a valuable thing to me," William D. Meehan, professor of art at DePauw University, tells Indianapolis' WISH-TV. Meehan -- whose work is featured in an exhibition at DePauw's Emison Art Center -- was the subject of the CBS affiliate's "Indiana's Own" segment, which aired during this evening's newscast. The retrospective of Meehan's art showcases, in the words of reporter Ray Rice, "sixty-one creations spread across 26 years."
"I think to be honored with the option of having a one person show" is very humbling, Professor Meehan tells WISH's Rice, who asks how one gets asked to be featured in a retrospective. "Well, you beg a lot," Meehan quips. He adds, 'It's kind of a nice gesture."
"Bill Meehan is an artist and a teacher, who is as colorful and joyous as his brush on canvas," states Rice.
The retrospective continues through May 5.
