590 Donors Still Needed to Meet Alumni Challenge
June 27, 2007
June 27, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Alumni of DePauw still have an opportunity to help the University meet a challenge that will provide the University with $100,000. Three anonymous alumni donors have offered a challenge: if alumni reach 40% participation in the Annual Fund by June 30, they will give the University $100,000. As of this morning, 590 additional gifts are needed. Contributions of any amount will help secure the 40 percent participation challenge.
"Alumni participation is a measure of the University's vitality," says R. Lee Wilson '76, national chair of the Annual Fund. "It indicates alumni satisfaction with their undergraduate experience and a desire to give back to the next generation. As a result, the public -- including prospective students -- uses our alumni giving participation rate as a measure of DePauw's quality."
Annual Fund participation is a key component of DePauw's strategic plan: Securing Our Legacy. Annual fund gifts go primarily to support the 53% of DePauw students who receive need-based financial aid. However, you may designate your gift to underwrite University investments in any of the following areas:
- Student Scholarships
- Creative and Performing Arts
- Diversity Initiatives
- Katula Fund for Athletics
- Technology and Library Support
- Winter Term and Off-Campus Study
- Unrestricted Support
To make a gift and participate in the challenge, visit the University's online gift page, call the staff at (800) 446-5298, or send a check to DePauw University Annual Fund, 300 E. Seminary, P.O. Box 37, Greencastle, IN 46135-0037.Back
