David Macpherson '77 Named VA Healthcare Network's Chief Medical Officer

Macpherson has been named as chief medical officer for VA Healthcare - Veterans Integrated Services Network 4, which includes Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as portions of West Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio and New York," reports today's Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Dr. Macpherson is featured in the paper's "Newsmaker" column. It notes that he earned a "bachelor's degree in chemistry from DePauw University in 1977" and received a "medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1981 [and] a master's in public health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in 1993."

"The VA is an amazing organization that has made huge strides in quality of care," Macpherson says. "I hope to help lead further jumps in quality and access to veterans in our region."
