New CD Produced by Prof. Gabriel Crouch is Praised by London's Sunday Times
July 2, 2007
July 2, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "There are riches here, superbly sung by the Gabrielis," writes Hugh Canning in London's Sunday Times of The Road to Paradise. The new compact disc, released on the Deutsche Grammophon label, was produced by Gabriel Crouch, director of choral ensembles at DePauw University. The newspaper named the disc "Classical CD of the week."
The Gabrieli Consort is conducted by Paul McCreesh, who "turns an artistic thread binding the two golden ages of English choral music -- Tudor and 20th-century -- into a pilgrimage of the soul, from life to death to immortality in paradise, in this essentially 'commercial' programme," writes Canning.
