Newsday Summary of Friday the 13th Trivia Cites DePauw
July 13, 2007
July 13, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "Do you have paraskavedekatriaphobia?," asks New York's Newsday. "That's fear of Friday the 13th." A brief item headlined "Why is Friday the 13th unlucky?" appears in today's edition, and credits DePauw University as a source for some of its information.
"When the 13th day of the month falls on a Friday, many people feel the day will be unlucky, but why?," queries Newsday, offering "some Friday the 13th trivia." What follows appears to be pulled from a January 1998 story at DePauw.edu, in which Professor Underwood "Woody" Dudley offered a series of facts on Friday the 13th. DePauw is one of three organizations cited as sources at the conclusion of the piece.
