Jekyll/Hyde Halves Mean Monon Bell Stays in Crawfordsville
November 18, 1950
November 18, 1950, Crawfordsville, Ind. - The DePauw University Tigers jumped out to a 20-6 halftime lead, but a second half surge by Wabash College led to a 34-20 triumph for the Little Giants, who keep the Monon Bell for a second consecutive year. DePauw ends the season with a 4-4 record; Wabash closes the campaign at 4-2-3.
A pair of touchdown passes by DePauw's Gene Gephart and a scoring run by Steve Nagy gave the visiting Tigers an early advantage. But a Wabash interception at the beginning of the second half shifted the momentum, and two blocked kicks and another interception later the Little Giants were tasting victory. ![]()
