Tiger duo named regional staff of the year

August 7, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - After leading DePauw to a record-seting 37-7 season including a regional title in the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship, DePauw head coach Bonnie Skrenta (pictured left) and assistant Clyde Spencer (pictured below) were named the Central Region Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The Tigers posted a school-record 37 wins on the season and advanced to the NCAA Division III finals in Salem, Va., where they finished fifth in the nation. DePauw also finished the 2007 campaign ranked fifth in the country by the NFCA. DePauw earned a spot in the finals after going 4-0 in its first regional appearance.
Skrenta completed her fifth season as the Tigers' head coach and her teams have posted a 107-82-1 record including a 68-17 mark over the last two years. In each of the last four seasons, DePauw teams have increased their win total and winning percentage over the previous season.Back
