The book, the result of Rasmussen's frustration over the inability of American political leaders to develop a reasonable federal budget, is being distributed by PMG International.

Rasmussen, a political science major, and six of his friends hand delivered draft copies of the book to every member of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives over spring break. Rep. Connie Mack III (R-Florida) wrote the book's forward.

"Scott Rasmussen offers both an insightful and comprehensive analysis of our present budget dilemma as well as an intriguing response," opined Mack, a member of the House budget committee. "While serious observers of the federal budget may differ on how best to address the crisis Mr. Rasmussen so clearly describes, the author of the book presents a set of premises that should serve as the foundation for any plan of corrective action."

Rasmussen, who has formed the League of Concerned Americans, has drawn national media attention for his book, including recent stories distributed by the Associated Press.
