Prof. Russell Compton Elected Head of Midwest Bible Instructors

Compton, head of the department of philosophy and religion at DePauw University, has been elected president of the Midwest branch of the National Association of Biblical Instructors. The regional division of the association includes college-level instructors in Bible and related subjects from a dozen Midwestern states.

Dr. Compton, a member of the DePauw faculty since 1951, is a graduate of Manchester College. He received advanced degrees from Garrett Biblical Institute and Yale University.

Before coming to DePauw, Compton taught at Wesley College, Hendrix College and Hamline University.
