The "Quick Reads" column, which appears in the "Living" section, reports on hooks' visit to campus September 17-21 as Elizabeth P. Allen Distinguished University Professor.

The newspaper lists the public events that hooks will participate in, and the caption below a photograph of the author points out that she was cited by Utne Reader as one of "100 Visionaries Who Could Change Your Life."
