Robert Schrier '57 Enters Indianapolis Public Schools' Hall of Fame

Schrier, professor in the University of Colorado School of Medicine and 1957 graduate of DePauw University, is a 2007 inductee of the Indianapolis Public School Hall of Fame. Dr. Schrier was inducted October 8 in ceremonies at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, reports today's Indianapolis Star. "The internationally known expert in renal medicine, who is also in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, came from his home in Colorado with his wife, Barbara ['59]," writes Susan Guyett.

Other honorees included Olympic medalist Anita DeFrantz, former Indiana first lady Judy O'Bannon, and Rosevelt Colvin of the New England Patriots. The column adds, "Superintendent Eugene White established the Hall of Fame last year so that IPS students could see what previous IPS grads have achieved roy o west library fall.jpglocally, nationally and internationally." 

The founder of the Colorado Prevention Center, Dr. Schrier has also served as president of the Association of American Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, and the International Society of Nephrology. For his contributions in biomedical research, education, and clinical medicine, Schrier has received the highest awards from the American College of Physicians, the National Kidney Foundation, the American Society of Nephrology, the Western Society of Clinical Investigation, the Association of Professors in Medicine, and the American Kidney Fund.
