Gretchen Cryer 2.jpgNovember 7, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - Hats! -- a musical which features songs by a number of contributors, including 1957 DePauw University graduate Gretchen Cryer -- opens at Harrah's Las Vegas on January 12, 2008. The show premiered in Denver in October 2006, opened in January 2007 at Harrah's New Orleans Casino Hotel, and premiered in Chicago at the Royal George Theatre on April 29, 2007.

An announcement at CNN/Money.com states, "Hats! features a score of original songs by some of Broadway's most celebrated songwriters," and names Cryer along with Grammy Award-winners Melissa Manchester and Pam Tillis, Kathie Lee Gifford and Henry Krieger, among others.

"We are elated to once again present our show in a Harrah's venue," says Mitchell Maxwell, president and CEO of Sibling Holdings. "We received fantastic Hats Musical.jpgaudience response when we opened Hats! at Harrah's New Orleans in January 2007."

The musical was inspired by the Red Hat Society, and the Chicago Tribune calls it "a music-and-comedy celebration ... It will make a lot of people feel empowered. It does so with integrity, craft and heart." Variety opined, "This is a feel-good show that's really about feeling good."
