Cook Named SCAC Swimmer of the Week

December 5, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw sophomore John Cook has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performances from November 26 through December 2.
Cook led off DePauw’s 200-yard freestyle relay with a 20.89-second split as the team swam a 1:22.77 at the DePauw Invitational. He then anchored DePauw’s 400 free relay with a 44.98-second split as the team finished with a time of 3:04.16. The relays were NCAA A and B cuts, respectively, along with school, pool and meet records.
Individually, Cook won both the 50 free and 100 free, posting an NCAA B cut and a lifetime best time of 45.98 in the latter. In the 200 free he set a new meet record in 1:44.20.
Cook also anchored both the 200 medley relay with a time of 20.56 and the 400 medley relay with a time of 45.88. The Tigers won the DePauw Invitational by 297 points.
