Dean Bob Farber '35 Elected to North Central Association's College Commission

Farber, has been elected to the Commission on Colleges and Universities of the North Central Association. College division commissioners act on cases involving accreditation within the association's 19-state area.

As a commissioner, Dr. Farber also will be assigned to visitation teams in connection with a program of periodic review of member colleges and universities.

A 1935 graduate of DePauw, Farber was recently appointed to the liberal arts and teacher education subcommittee of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. A newly-created group, the subcommittee will investigate promising teacher educationEast College No Leaves 2006.jpg practices in liberal arts colleges and suggest means of appraising needs and interests of faculty members involved in teacher training. Farber will attend the subcommittee's first meeting, May 16 & 17, in Chicago.
