Elizabeth Morgan '03 to Lead New Vermillion-Parke Community Health Center
January 7, 2008January 7, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "We have leased a former doctor’s office and have remodeled it," says Elizabeth J. Morgan of the new health clinic that will open in Indiana's Vermillion County February 1. "It was needed," adds Morgan, who has been appointed executive director of the Vermillion-Parke Community Health Center. "There is a lack of health professionals in our area."
Morgan is quoted in a story in the Commercial-News of Danville, Illinois. "The clinic’s mission is to provide comprehensive, quality primary health care and related services to those in need of medical care, including the medically underserved and vulnerable populations of Vermillion and Parke counties in Indiana without regard to the patient’s ability to pay," writes Dennis Bartlow. "The clinic is seeking a full-time surgeon and part-time doctors. In the interim, doctors will provide services on a rotating day schedule."
The newspaper adds, "Morgan most recently served as director of the State Office of Rural Health. She graduated magna cum laude from DePauw University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication. She received her law degree from Indiana University."
