David Cryer '58 to Participate in Manhattan Reading of The Visit

david cryer.jpgFebruary 16, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - David Cryer, a 1958 graduate of DePauw University, will be among the performers participating in a February 19 closed reading of The Visit in Manhattan, reports Playbill. The event will also feature "two-time Tony winners Chita Rivera and George Hearn as well as Mark Jacoby." The Visit is set to be staged at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, May 13 through June 22.


David Cryer portrays Monsieur Firmin in Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, which recently become the first Broadway production ever to run 20 years. He is a veteran of thirteen Broadway shows, including over 1,000 performances of Gen. Juan Peron in Evita. Playbill Logo.gifCryer received a Theatre World Award for Come Summer and was Detroit's Best Actor for his Sweeney Todd. He was also a soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
