Ted Katula Appointed to New Administrative Posts

September 6, 1967, Greencastle, Ind. - Ted Katula was today appointed director of student union activities and assistant dean of students at DePauw University. Katula currently serves as assistant football coach. DePauw President William E. Kerstetter announced that while Katula becomes assistant dean of students immediately, he will not assume his full duties at the Union Building until the conclusion of the football season.
In his new role, Katula will direct all phases of campus activities in the Union except food service and plant maintenance. He also will coordinate special events and programs that the Union sponsors or hosts.
Katula joined DePauw's physical education program and varsity coaching staff in 1959 after teaching at Oberlin College. In addition to football duties at DePauw, he has coached baseball, wrestling and golf during the past eight years.
A native of Campbell, Ohio, Katula was graduated from Ohio State University in 1958. He played on the Buckeye football and golf teams, captaining the latter squad for two years. He received the M.S. degree in recreation and physical education in 1965 from Indiana University.
