Sixth-ranked DePauw Sweeps Weekend Games; Extends Win Streak to 13

March 16, 2008, Ridgeland, Miss. - The sixth-ranked Tigers improved to 13-1 on the season and completed a weekend sweep with an 8-0 win over Rhodes and a 12-0 victory over Austin at the Millsaps Classic.
Both games were shortened to five innings due to the eight-run rule. The Tiger also extended their win streak to 13 straight.
In the win over Rhodes, the Tigers scored three in the third, one in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Chelsy Patterson, Rachel Gill and Lauren Rees each collected two of the Tigers' eight hits, while Patterson drove in three. Four different Lynx collected one hit apiece.
Megan Soultz improved to 12-1 after striking out six and allowing just four hits with no walks. Cindy Bitters suffered the loss.
In the weekend's final game, DePauw scored two in the first, four in the third and six in the fourth. Ashlee Anton set a school record with six RBI with a two-run double in the third and a grand slam in the fourth.
Anton and Brianne Weeks each collected two of the Tigers' seven hits. Soultz picked up the win with her second no-hitter of the season and third of her career as she struck out four in improving to 13-1. Brittany Gaertner suffered the loss.
DePauw travels to Fort Myers, Fla., on March 24 where they'll open play at the Gene Cusic Classic against Union (N.Y.) and Otterbein.
