Anton Named SCAC Co-Player of the Week

April 9, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw freshman first baseman Ashlee Anton has been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in games from March 31 through April 6. She shared the honor with Trinity's Michelle Gossein.
Anton broke DePauw's single-season record with her fifth home run of the year in the series finale against Centre on Sunday. She hit .705 (12-17) over the final six games of the week and was 7-for-11 (.636) in the Centre series with a slugging percentage of 1.545.
For the week, Anton was 12-for-22 (.545) with one double and three home runs. She scored eight runs, drove in 13 and finished with a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Anton is batting .384 (11th in the SCAC) on the season and slugging .628 (sixth in the SCAC) with 35 RBI (second in the SCAC), 54 total bases (fourth in the SCAC) and five home runs (tied for third in the SCAC).
DePauw, 29-1 and ranked third in Division III, hosts Millsaps on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's 1 p.m. doubleheader will be carried live on WGRE.
