Prof. Jeff McCall '76 Honored for Teaching Excellence & Campus Leadership

Jeff McCall 1991.jpgMay 5, 1991, Greencastle, Ind. - Jeffrey M. McCall, associate professor of communication arts and sciences, is a recipient of the Sears Roebuck Foundation's 1990-91 Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award. McCall is one of approximately 700 faculty members from the nation's leading independent liberal arts colleges to be recognized for outstanding resourcefulness and leadership. Dr. McCall receives $1,000 and the University has been awarded a $2,500 grant. The award program is administered by the Foundation for Independent Higher Education.

McCall, a 1976 graduate of DePauw, was named chair of his department this semester. He also serves as general manager of student radio station WGRE-FM

Old DePauw Gold EC Logo.jpgPrior to joining the DePauw faculty, McCall was a media consultant for the Missouri State Treasurer's office; assistant professor at Northwest Missouri State University; news coordinator for KXCV Radio in Maryville, Missouri; and sports correspondent for the Gazette of St. Joseph, Missouri.

A communication major at DePauw, Jeff McCall went on to earn a master's degree from the University of Illinois and his doctorate in radio-TV from the University of Missouri.
