All-Star Status of Two Incoming Students Noted in Newspaper

July 18, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "DePauw-bound running back Michael Woodsmall," a spring graduate of Farmersburg, Indiana's North Central High School, will represent the South team in tonight's Grange Insurance North-South All-Star Classic. The Terre Haute Tribune-Star's David Hughes adds, "Another DePauw-bound running back, Zach Clapp (5-11, 205, Rockville), was chosen for the South squad but won't be able to play because of an injury."

"This past season Woodsmall rushed for 2,123 yards and 27 touchdowns," reports Terre Haute television station WTWO. "Woodsmall leaves the T-Bird's as the school's all-time leading rusher."
Zach Clapp was named the winner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association's Phil N. Eskew Mental Attitude Award in Class A football. The award is presented annually to a senior participant in the state finals who was nominated by his principal and coach and has demonstrated excellence in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability. Last fall, Clapp gained 1,611 yards on 218 carries (7.39 average) and scored 20 touchdowns.
