DePauw to Host D-I Horizon League's Indoor Track & Field Championships

2005 Indoor Track.jpgAugust 29, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "DePauw has been gracious in extending the use of its top facility," Butler University track coach Matt Roe tells the Indianapolis Star. Today's edition of the newspaper reports that Butler will host the 2009 Horizon League indoor track and field championships, which will take place "Feb. 28-March 1 at DePauw's tennis and track center in Greencastle." The 10 Horizon League members are all NCAA Division I colleges.

Roe adds, "Indianapolis has long been regarded for its strong running community, and we are looking forward to a well-attended championship."

DePauw University's indoor tennis and track center hosted the Horizon League championships in 2002, 2004 and 2005. It was also the site of the 2003 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, as well as the 2002 Division III Men's Tennis Championships. The 132,000 square foot building was dedicated on April 27, 2001.
