Dale Espich '51 Talks with Newspaper About Increase in Juvenile Diabetes

September 13, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - "It comes down to a couple of things: Lack of exercise and all of the fast food and junk that we're eating," says Dale E. Espich, council director of Shiawassee, Michigan's Girls on the Run program and 1951 graduate of DePauw University. Espich is quoted in a story in the Argus-Press of Owosso, Michigan, which examines the escalating rates of juvenile diabetes in America.
"There are a lot of studies that say these problems can be fixed by focusing on nutrition and getting exercise," Espich notes.
