1944 DePauw-Miami Game Recalled in Ohio Newspaper

September 16, 2008

1944 jim stauffer.jpgSeptember 16, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Ohio's Miami University had to stage a comeback to win its game Saturday, 38-27. Without a late rally, "falling to Charleston Southern, a I-AA -- or as they're officially known now, a Football Championship Subdivision team -- would be Miami's worst loss, maybe, since losing to DePauw in 1944," writes Tom Archdeacon in the Dayton Daily News. The Tigers downed the RedHawks by a 13-7 reach-vintage-football.jpgscore on November 18, 1944. The DePauw team finished with a 3-5 record that season.
