American Piano Trio Coming for Wednesday Performance

American-Piano-Trio.jpgOctober 3, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - The American Piano Trio brings its talents to the DePauw University School of Music on Wednesday, October 8. The three guest artists -- Robert Palmer, piano; Anna Vayman, violin; and Peter Opie, cello -- will present a 7:30 p.m. concert in Thompson Recital Hall of the Judson and Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts. The program is free and open to the public.

Originally founded in 1983, the American Piano Trio has performed in the United States, Canada, Korea and Thailand. This month, the Trio will be performing at the Musical Note.jpgprestigious 8th Annual International Conservatoire Week Festival at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire in St. Petersburg, Russia. The musicians will present recitals and master classes at other leading conservatoires in that country. In 2009, the Trio will record works by American composers for a release on the Beneficence label.

The Wednesday evening concert will feature works by Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Foote, David Ashley White and Jennifer Hidgon.
