Prindle Institute's Sustainable Design Celebrated at San Antonio Awards

November 6, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - Lake/Flato Architects of San Antonio received "the sustainability commendation for the Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University, the first new building in Indiana to achieve a Gold rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design," reports today's San Antonio Express-News. The honor was made at yesterday's 2008 Design Awards of the San Antonio chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The Prindle Instiitute recently was awarded the 2008 "Outstanding Indiana Architecture Award" by the Indiana chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Indiana). The University and CSO Architects were honored at the AIA Indiana 2008 Annual Design Awards.
As noted above, the Institute, which is located in the DePauw Nature Park, recently became the first building in Indiana to earn a LEED New Construction Gold 2.2 rating for energy efficiency and environmental design from the U.S. Green Building Council. The structure was recently featured in Environmental Design + Construction magazine.
