10th-ranked Tigers Drop to 2-2 after Loss to Lehman

November 28, 2008, San Antonio, Texas - DePauw shot just 32.7 percent from the floor and committed 21 turnovers on the way to a 65-55 loss to Lehman College at the San Antonio Shootout. The Tigers dropped to 2-2, while the Lightning improved to 4-2.
DePauw led by as many as four in the opening six minutes of the game before Lehman scored nine straight to take a 16-11 advantage midway through the first half on the way to a 30-26 halftime lead.
The Tigers battled back to take 36-35 lead early in the second half, but a 10-0 stretch by Lehman gave them a nine-point cushion at 45-36. That lead reached as many as 15 at 53-38 with just over eight minutes remaining and DePauw got no closer than six the rest of the way.
Emily Marshall recorded a double-double for the Tigers with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Andrea Travelstead had one as well with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Katie Mathews dished out a game and career-high eight assists in the loss.
Tonisha Kirby paced the Lightning with 22 points, while Sally Nnamani added 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Whittney Barnes followed with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Lehman connected on 37.3 percent of its shots including 6-of-23 from three-point range. The Tigers were 8-of-23 from three-point range. Each team finished with 38 rebounds, but Lehman held a 25-12 advantage in points off of turnvoer.
DePauw faces Schreiner on Saturday at 4 p.m. CST, in its final game of the tournament.
