Wittenberg Claims DePauw Invitational Team Title; DePauw a Close Runner-up

December 6, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. —  Wittenberg totaled 749.5 points and narrowly defeated runner-up DePauw which finished with 727 in the 22nd annual DePauw Invitational. Complete results are available through the official site.

Among the highlights of the meet was the DePauw 200-yard free realy of John Cook, John Montgomery, Kyle Kerrigan and Steve Klabak which won in a meet, pool and NCAA "B" cut time of 1:22.33.The 800 free relay of Cook, Montgomery, Kerrigan and Chalie Boehme set a pool and meet record and made the B cut in 6:57.42.

The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Klabak, Josh Baugh, Brogan Runion and Cook did the same in 1:34.26. DePauw's 400 free relay of Klabak, Montgomery, Baugh and Cook set a pool and meet record and made a B cut in 3:02.99.

Cook made an NCAA "A" cut in the prelims of the 100 free in 44.77 seconds and a B cut and meet record in the 50 free prelims in 20.91. Runion set a pool and meet record and also met the NCAA B cut in the 200 fly in 1:52.05 and made a B cut in the 100 fly in 51.07 seconds.

Transylvania's Hal Graft set a meet record and established an NCAA "A" cut in the 200 back in 1:50.78 and set a pool and meet record and made a "B" cut in the 200 individual medley in 1:54.98. He won the 100 back in 51.38 seconds which set a pool and meet record and made the B cut.

Wittenberg's Neil Anderson set a pool and meet record and made a B cut in the 500 free in 4:38.19 and established a meet record in the 200 free in 1:43.48.
