December 27, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. — "He still looks young enough to be asked for identification before he purchases an adult beverage, but Butler University’s 31-year-old men’s basketball coach Brad Stevens displayed amazing poise in guiding the Bulldogs to a school-record 30-4 season," writes Bill Benner in the Indianapolis Business Journal. Benner cites Stevens, a 1999 graduate of DePauw University, as the "Coach of the Year" in a year-end summary of local sports highlights.

Stevens' Bulldog team is off to a 9-1 start. An economics major and Management Fellow as an undergraduate, he led Butler to a school- and Horizon League-record 30-4 mark in his first year as head coach last season.
The Indianapolis Star noted that Stevens and DePauw head football and baseball coach Matt Walker '99 were roommates at the University in an article published a day after Walker's Tigers topped Wabash, 36-14, in the 115th Monon Bell Classic. Read more here.Back
