Geoff Dains.gifJanuary 21, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Geoff Dains, assistant men's basketball coach at California Lutheran University and 1995 graduate of DePauw University, "aspires to be a Division III head coach," reports the Ventura County Star. "You get to see people grow as a whole within a small community," Dains says, "and I’m looking for that kind of environment. When that window of opportunity opens I’m going to jump at it."

A story in today's newspaper notes that Dains has assisted head coach Rich Rider for 13 seasons. "Every year, I’m learning something new from Coach Rider. It doesn’t matter whether it be on the court or off the court."

David Lassen writes, "It has been a winning combination. From the time Dains came on board in the summer of 1996 through last Saturday’s win over La Verne, CLU is 213-111, with two conference championships and six second-place finishes."Basketball 77.jpg

A communication major at DePauw, Dains received a master's degree in counseling and guidance from CLU and teaches in the University's exercise science department.
