Women Win 12th Straight at Hendrix; Men's Hoops Team Sees Streak End

Goff_Lauren_200809wbb.jpgJanuary 26, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "DePauw moved into sole possession of the SCAC East Division first place" with a 80-71 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Hendrix College yesterday afternoon, reports the Log Cabin Democrat of Conway, Arkansas. The women's team's 12th consecutive victory was sealed when the Tigers outscored Hendrix 12-1 in the final 2:21. Lauren Goff (pictured at left) paced the Tigers with a career-high 19 points.

"Hendrix's men used a first-half sprint fueled by Conway freshman Nick Heathscott to build a 78-67 victory over league power DePauw University Sunday at Grove Gymnasium," notes the newspaper. DePauw dropped to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the SCAC as its eight-game win streak came to an end. The Tigers were led by Tom Callen's 19 points and eight rebounds.
