Atlanta Paper Touts Brad Stevens '99 as Candidate for U of Georgia Hoops Coach
January 31, 2009
January 31, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — "32-year-old is the hottest mid-major coach, having gone 48-5 in 1 1/2 seasons with the Bulldogs," notes the Atlanta Journal-Constitution of Brad Stevens, head men's basketball coach at Butler University. Writer Mark Bradley lists Stevens, a 1999 graduate of DePauw University, among six candidates he recommends for the University of Georgia's vacant head coaching post.
When it comes to Stevens' "cons," Bradley writes, "Figures to be at the top of almost every major program's wish list; might prefer working in basketball-obsessed Indiana to basketball-indifferent Georgia; has no ties to the South, having been raised in Indiana and having played at DePauw."
