VP Stefanie Niles Quoted in Indianapolis Star
January 31, 2009
January 31, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, a charter school, "has a guidance counselor to help former students navigate their way through college .... [who will] help former students clear up financial aid missteps or straighten out class schedules at college," reports today's Indianapolis Star. The story adds, "Stefanie Niles, vice president of admissions and financial aid at DePauw University, hasn't heard of any schools nationally that make that part of a counselor's job, but she applauds any step that helps students make the transition to college."
Niles tells the newspaper, "That's a much more rare model. It's always great for students to have resources -- the more resources, the better."
The Star's Andy Gammill points out that Niles is president of the Indiana Association of College Admission Counseling.
